Week 15:
For this week i designed the mechanical part for my final project, my final is a prototyp for a DIY Vacuum Former and the design is like a tower, the bottom is fixed with the top part with Stainless Steel Rods and the media holder which hold the material slides up and down on those rods.
I had two issues:
first was to find a way to make that sliding easy and smooth, i designed a 3D Printed part which the rod goes through and the part gets fixed with screws and nuts through the two holes beside the big centered hole in the media holder.

then i designed a laser-cut substitution which function on the same concept.

but those two solutions didn't work well, the sliding wasn't easy and smooth and because the rods wasn't not straight enought.
I had another solution which has worked, to use a linear bearing and design a 3D Printed flange to be fixed in single layer of the media holder with screws and nuts.

but unfortunately the 3D printer was not working this time and we were running out of time so i fixed the bearings with heat gun as a proof of concept.
